Abstract

It is known that fence masonry is essential as a construction method to guarantee the separation of environments, allowing thermal and acoustic insulation, as it guarantees the protection of the internal part of the building against physical phenomena, being susceptible to bad weather, thus avoiding the appearance of pathologies. In this context, the pathological manifestation is an expression resulting from a damage mechanism, which can be motivated by certain causes, with humidity being a common cause in such construction systems. That said, the present work aims to map the causes and effects of the main pathological manifestations in masonry seals caused by infiltration. To this end, the mapping proposal consists of using the Ishikawa Diagram as a methodology to help identify these causes, and also the GUT Matrix as a methodology to order their priority of attention. The Ishikawa diagram is normally used to identify possible errors in a process, according to 6 categories. The GUT Matrix is commonly used to assist in the prioritization of services and resolution of problems, and for this it takes into account 3 scores or scores assigned in the criteria of gravity, urgency and tendency. From this information, it was possible to list the possible causes related to each problem explained in the present work, and thus establish a standard order for the solution of these pathological manifestations, according to their pros and cons. There is a promising incentive for future work, as it is necessary to identify the possible prognoses of such pathological manifestations.
