A PRIORIZAÇÃO DA VACINAÇÃO CONTRA A COVID-19 DAS PESSOAS PRIVADAS DE LIBERDADE NO BRASIL

The abandonment of the state and the intensification of forms of social control through punishment promote overcrowding in prisons in Brazil. For this reason, the prioritization of vaccination against the new Coronavirus was established in the National Plan for Operationalization of the Vaccine Against COVID-19, in Resolution No. 14, of February 4, 2021. justifies for being a problem of social character and nationwide. Furthermore, the work developed using a bibliographic and documentary review method aims to identify whether the ideals of meritocracy, based on Sandel's work, have influenced, to some extent, the controversies related to early immunization of these individuals. However, based on the readings carried out, it is argued that yes and that positions contrary to this prioritization need deeper reflection, even from a utilitarian point of view, not to mention the total neglect of solidarity, fraternity and otherness.
