Abstract
The objective of this work was to develop, validate, and implement an almanac for patients undergoing peritoneal dialysis. This is a participatory research conducted at the Peritoneal Dialysis Program outpatient clinic of a university hospital in the southeast region of the country, in five stages: 1. Focus group; 2. Bibliographic survey; 3. Construction of educational technology; 4. Validation of the almanac content by judges; 5. Implementation of the almanac with the target audience. The educational technology developed and validated was composed of information about peritoneal dialysis therapy, recreational activities, games, comics, and tips, using clear and objective language implemented for the target audience. The almanac was implemented in the service and proved to be a viable technological innovation in the context of peritoneal dialysis care, which may result in greater patient adherence and safety, as well as improvement in the quality of care and health education offered by nurses.
