Abstract

Violence against women is considered a public health problem. It can be physical, sexual, psychological or due to negligence. The physical and sexual forms stand out, being practiced most of the times by fixed partners. The objective of this study is to analyze the profile of violence against women assisted in the Department of Attendance to Vulnerable Groups (DAGV) of Aracaju/SE, in the year 2016. This is a study of a quantitative and descriptive nature, with secondary data collected in the DAGV in the municipality of Aracaju/SE, referring to inquiries closed in the year 2016. Thus, through the study, it was found that women victims of violence in Aracaju in 2016 and assisted in DAGV, are young people of reproductive age, self-declare brown, with medium level of education, and who have jobs and income. The most prevalent violence was psychological violence perpetrated by partners and/or former partners, who used verbal and physical/body violence in the act of aggression.
