SOLO GRAMPEADO E MURO DE GABIÃO: UMA DISCUSSÃO DAS VANTAGENS E DESVANTAGENS DE TAIS TÉCNICAS
Abstract
It is known that slopes and embankments, when unstable, represent a significant challenge in terms of safety and infrastructure development. Therefore, the application of appropriate stabilization techniques is essential to minimize the risks associated with these areas. In this sense, the general objective of this article is to investigate the two main slope stabilization techniques: Nailed Soil and Gabion Wall. To this end, the following are specific objectives: compare the two slope containment techniques; and cite cases of the use of both techniques in Brazil. The study adopts an applied approach to solving landslides in the region, combining qualitative and quantitative elements. It is exploratory research, focused on identifying the causes and developing solutions for stabilization. The methodology involved a comprehensive literature review and proposes the comparison of methods to highlight their advantages and disadvantages. The research highlights the effectiveness of soil nailing and gabion walls in stabilizing slopes. It emphasizes the importance of a careful and collaborative approach to ensure its effectiveness and sustainability. It also highlights the need for ethical and social considerations and continuous advancement in geotechnical engineering to prevent disasters and preserve the environment, ensuring a safer and more sustainable future.
