The Creative Economy, despite being a concept still under construction, reveals a great potential to include more and more people in the economic process, and from this, develop cities, regions and states based on the creativity of its local workforce, in addition to demonstrating important sustainable characteristics. This article aims to describe the Creative Economy in terms of job and income generation in the state of Paraíba, emphasizing its importance as a strategic alternative for the socioeconomic development of the state. For this, the bibliographic research was used and secondary data made available by FIRJAN for the year 2020 were collected. The municipalities studied were João Pessoa, Campina Grande, Santa Rita, Patos, Sousa and Cajazeiras, chosen for their micro and mesoregional influences. With the results obtained, it was concluded that, despite the vocation of the Creative Economy to reach a greater number of people and develop its localities, it is still little relevant in Paraíba. Thus, it is deduced that the public authorities must act as the main inducer of the Creative Economy as an important alternative for the promotion of local socioeconomic development.
