Abstract

Corruption has existed since the dawn of humanity and occurs in different ways, however, in recent decades it has become the agenda of Brazilian society due to the numerous scandals of the country's rulers, regardless of the political party they represent. Therefore, the present study questions the application of integrity programs in the local public administration as an instrument to improve and promote transparency, efficiency and fight against corruption, since they stimulate cultural transformation as a whole and, thus, become viable as these programs can help. increase the effectiveness of the innumerable and tireless decision-making of public managers. The study aims to analyze the role of integrity programs in the concealment of probity in public management and how their application could impact on the improvement of control and decision-making processes in public management, thus ensuring a more efficient and reliable performance. For this, the concept and role of governance in public administration are understood, with a focus on municipal public management. After that, the national and international advances of compliance programs and their applicability to the public sector will be discussed. In order, at the end, to analyze the integrity programs in the Public Administration, from its function in the management system to its application in the bodies and in the indirect administration.
