Abstract
Self-esteem plays a key role in overall health and well-being, particularly for trans people who often face the effects of prejudice and social exclusion. This study aimed to explore how dental and psychological care can contribute to strengthening self-esteem in the trans community. The intervention took place at a non-governmental organization that works to offer support for the LGBTQIAPN+ population in Sergipe, through an interdisciplinary action involving students from Dentistry and Psychology. The activity included an opening dynamic, oral hygiene guidance, and an open conversation circle, creating a safe environment for sharing experiences. Participants expressed a deep-rooted distrust of healthcare services, mostly due to past experiences marked by discrimination. Still, the positive engagement during the intervention highlighted the importance of respectful and welcoming spaces. The findings reinforce the need for more inclusive and humanized training of health professionals, ensuring dignity and access to care for the trans population.
